medics
i know you guys don't really like taking suggestions or deviating from the original formula (and rightfully so) but I'm pretty sure you have to agree that there are 2 problems with the medic in the original opposing force. the first one is that once a medic can't heal you any further, it just feels off like he was just an object since he can barely fight, maybe you can pickup a med kit and touch it on them and then they can use that to further heal you? and the second one, is that there isn't a very good indication of your squad's health and its really hard to tell if a medic is healing them and how much they have healed, it would be kind of nice if there is a simpler and/or better way to fix that, maybe like above each of your squad mate's icons above the HUD (assuming you add use this feature from hl2 with your custom heads up display) there is a percentage of their health displayed, or maybe its just shown above their head as an option or something. i don't expect any of these things to be added (i never really did) but maybe some of these can be resolved one way or another in O:BM?

HeadCrabs
Hello there, I was just wondering about the Headcrabs.
HL1 has only normal headcrabs, no poison nor fast, why? and how? if HL2 has poison, and fast headcrabs then why didn't HL1 have it? in the HL2 beta there was going to be something called "momma pod" or something like that.
It was going to big momma's pod with 3 advisers guarding it, it was owned by the combine so they can birth more headcrabs and put them in the cainsters

Lighting in O:BM
When I decompiled the Black Mesa maps and took a look at how their light_spots and overall their lighting functioned, the initial maps used a lot of linear, constant, and quadratic settings together in one light (for example: [linear: 10; constant: 30; quadratic: 60]. In later maps, the lighting was wholly different, with most lights using only quadratic settings and making use of the inner and outer brightness angles more often instead.
Suffice to say, does the O:BM lighting have a strange pattern much like that of Black Mesa's maps, or do you level-design folk only mess with the inner and outer brightness angles?

Also, I can't wait to see the finished product of this! I have recently realized my old love for this gosh damn series when playing through Black Mesa Source. It's been awhile since i've played these old games, I can't wait to play this version! Personally, I would pay money for both OBM and GD! I will continue checking this website almost everyday!

Just registered with the forum, glad to see it up and running :)
Been following this mod for many, many years. Glad to see you're still working away on it.
I imagine it's hard to put the amount of effort required whilst trying to deal with day to day life issues.
Anyway,
just popping in to say a huge congrats to everybody involved in this mod, from lead developer down to who was in charge of the soundtrack. Everything looks absolutely amazing. You guys really deserve a lot of credit.
So keep the good work up, don't be under pressure from impatient people, finish this mod in your own time & surely a lot of you guys will get employment (if not already) for the dedication & beauty put in.

I've been wanting to play this pair DLC's for as long as i can remember, but again the graphics of the original ones weren't the best.
I want to thank you developing team for giving your time to make us, the community happy, i hope your mod/game does very well.

Hello, I am a young animator that would love to get more experience by helping out with Operation Black Mesa. I have a load of spare time right and would like to spend it helping out with the mod.
I have tons of experience importing content and working with the source engine. In the past I have worked on animal and bipedal animations in Silent Hill Alchemilla and Jurassic Life which are both source engine mods.
Currently, I work in 3ds Max, but I am also learning to animate in Maya at the moment. I can also rig models with bones and apply CAT Rigs for animation in 3ds Max.

I like Joel Nielsen's musics for BMS.
If its possible then the best solution is that if he make the music for OBM and GDuty too.
The OBM needs some soldier music like in the 1.6 version.
And for the Guard Duty another music and not that what will be in OBM!!!
I hope another music will be used instead of these what are in ModDB!

Free and enhanced version
If only the paid version will use the latest Source Engine, I assume there will come up some compatiblity issues in view of the multiplayer.
I guess it is intended that users of the free und the paid version can play together so it's probably necessary that both utilize the same Source Engine.
If you want to reward supporters, maybe there are other options.
